Ursimian

Alias: Zu Champion, Zu Lord
Race: L'na Twilight
Aspects: Mind 2, Body 3, Soul 2
Sex: Male-aspect; Height: 6 ft. (at the shoulder); Weight: 550 lbs.

"Mother! Tell us again about Ursimian!"

The small den exploded with frantic sounds and movement: scores of small voices filled the air with clamor and din. "Yes Mother! Yes Mother! Tell us! Tell us!" The small reptilian-insectoid tyke who'd started it all smiled, his forked tongue tapping the insides of his shuttered teeth.

The aged matron of the clan of Twilights sighed a bit to herself. She was weary, but not so weary as to spread the tale of the great Champion of Zu - one of the foremost of her clan's for-bearers. She settled herself into her nest, preening a few of her scarlet and sable feathers. "All right, my hatchlings. Come and settle and I shall tell you the tale of how Ursimian became to be!"

Again a surging cacophony of frenetic behavior. "A new tale, Mother?!? This is wonderful!" Another of her brood, a small porcupine-quilled spider-monkey moth cred, jumping up and down excitedly.

"Yes a new tale - one that shall not arrive until silence goes before it". Her feline-ursine features smiled slightly as she waited for her little ones to understand and adhere to her gentle instructions. Finally, the stirring brood calmed and settled like the still waters of a grotto pool, and the tale began...

Fanonical? What?

Fanonical posts are a new thing here at Untoldthegame.com, and as far as we know, something new to RPG's in general. We've talked about our Open Campaign Setting from "Day 1" around here, but we've not made much fuss of it so far. Well, that's about to end...

Basically, "fanonical" is a word we've coined based on the term canonical. Something that is canonical, or canon, is something that is accepted as being the truth or the "way that it is". In RPG's, something that is "canon" is something that has been "blessed and sanctioned" by whomever owns the IP. For instance, if you know anything about the Dresden Files RPG, you know that Dresden is a guy, not a girl - stuff like that is "canon".

Icewind

Alias: The Ghost of the North
Race: L'na Dawn
Aspects: Body 2, Mind 2, Soul 3
Sex: Male Aspect; Height: 4’0” ft at the shoulder; Weight: 200 lbs.

Character Description/Notes: The L'na reaction to Apoc-Earth has been mixed. Some have come and carved out a life aiding the Dreaming, or roaming the new wilds of the post-Event Earth. Others have come and put their powers to good use, even to the extent of becoming leaders of other beings and being worshiped as gods. Other have taken a decidedly negative turn, and some of their actions can be termed only as "evil".

Sl'heera

Alias: Quicksloth, The Verdant Sage
Race: L'na Dawn
Aspects: Mind 4, Soul 6
Sex: Male-aspect; Height: 4'1" (shoulder); Weight: 800 lbs.

"Individual lives are fragile things; life itself is eternal and unending."

Description/Notes: A creature of the verdant jungles of Ai, Sl'heera of the L'na Dawns is an apparent contradiction at first glance. Blending the hindquarters of the fiercely muscled and notoriously swift cheetah and the lazy features of a great sloth, he appears to be a ludicrous chimera, perhaps some failed experiment to copy the L'na by High-bred scientists. A closer look shows the merging of the disparate animal parts into a fluid whole, however, and every movement is deliberate, considered, and suggestive of a coiled grace and power that dares observers to try mocking him.

Carrion

Alias: Cahariin (Lost name, pronounced Kah-Hah-Reen)
Race: L'na Dawn
Aspects: Body 2, Mind 2, Soul 2
Sex: Male aspect; Height: 3' 3" (at shoulder); Length: 5' 6"; Weight: 130 lbs.

"The others are not our enemies. Ignorance is our enemy, and if not fought it will destroy us all."

Shadows of the Mind, Part 7

The nights had grown slightly cooler, and very much darker. The swamp had grown silent and still, as if the life of the swamp itself had gone into some kind of hibernation with the onset of winter. In the deepest recesses of night, where acid rain once fell, now acid snow drifted in silent, white clouds; the nightmares of a sickly disease dreamed by a dying world.

Shadow stood upon a dead tree, surveying the surrounding landscape, his senses open to everything, taking in the essence of the swamp itself, the essence of life and death lingering in the air itself. Shadow's eyes wandered out along the horizon and came to stop on the ruined, domed temple. A thin, green colored smoke drifted out of the giant opening in the roof. A sickly, green light radiated from within; and the moaning sounds of countless undead offered a greeting chorus to all those who came close to the temple. Shadow's eyes then drifted upwards to the sky, as he gazed not for the first time at the alien stars above. He wondered not for the first time if he often gazed at the stars of Ai. Then he took a deep breath.

Ai

Ai, the L'na home world, is powerfully beautiful — it conjures images of the most perfect vistas Earth has to offer. Idyllic scenes that are the stuff of human legend and fairytale exist throughout the L'na home world, made all the more vibrant by the living magic that flows through everything; except here, it's all real and tangible. Ai contains mountains that soar to impossible heights, rushing rivers so mighty that their roars shake the very foundations of the world, and forests so lush and primeval and pure that it seems a travesty to tread within them.

What is the Event?

What is the Event?

No one really knows.

All that is known is that at some point in the distant past, a massive, pan-cosmic event occurred that changed everything forever. Before the Event, life was considered "normal" (at least on Earth); there was only one known universe, humans believed they were the only sentient species (and quite possibly the highest form of life), and they thought that (for the most part) they had a pretty good handle on physics and how things worked.

The Event changed all of that.
