Location: The post-Event remains of the Buffalo Stamping Plant
Setting: Late morning on a bright and sunny summer day in the middle of a massive, chaotic, fully-operational metal stamping plant.
Forces: An unusual trio of Gear Guards (GM Minions) defends their newly "assigned" home from a rogue North American Union squad (NAU Defenders) set on "scavenging".

Setup: If it were not for a total lack of living beings, one would find it hard to believe that the Buffalo Stamping Plant had been built prior to the Event. The unusual pan-cosmic occurrence left the locale surprisingly unscathed and the factory itself in near-perfect working order. That’s exactly the state in which the three Gear Guards, Z@66-1, Z@66-12, and Z@66-13 (also known as "1", "12", and "13", respectively), found it in when they were ripped from their assigned Gear-node in the Great Machine.

Trouble in Toledo

Location: The ruins of north Toledo, Ohio — near Lake Erie.
Setting: Early dawn on a cool autumn day, just outside the ruins of the Toledo North Assembly Plant — an automobile plant that used to manufacture Jeeps before the Event.
Forces: A North American Union (NAU Defenders) forward reconnaissance squad versus an Undead Infection (UI) mob.

Setup: When not fighting for their lives, all NAU bases engage in reconnaissance and salvage — they send out platoons to gather pre-Event machinery and equipment from the ruins of the past. A platoon hailing from Wright-Patterson has recently been scouring the ruins of Toledo in an attempt to fulfill this mandate, splitting into four teams to expand their salvage operation. Things went well for two weeks, until the Green Team accidentally attracted unwanted attention to the operation… undead. The Lieutenant gave orders to evacuate, and everyone's out — except Blue Team.

The stalwart High-bred that comprise the North American Union inhabit a world that is far different from the America its founding fathers knew. Instead of a land that stretches from sea to sea, the NAU struggles to defend under a dozen "base-states" in what was once Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa. Beset from the west by the Flux Horrors and the Undead Infection to the east, the NAU is America's last line of defense against the demons of Post-Event earth.

Since the very presence of their primary foes can both disrupt and destroy advanced technology, the NAU relies on basic, overwhelming firepower. NAU forces are relatively cheap, have good physical armor, and focus on ranged damage - because going toe to toe with a slavering monstrosity with claws is foolish when you can mow them down from a distance.
