New Earth

No one knows when the Event happened, but its occurrence drastically re-shaped Earth and its environs. A new continent rose from the Pacific Ocean, a fragment of a completely alien world has been thrust into the core of the planet, vast swathes of roiling, ever-changing Flux now boil across entire sections of the globe, and more horrible still… the vast majority of the human population simply ceased to exist.

This is the world that the Apoc have inherited. It is a place drastically removed from the world of the 21st century: a world filled with nightmarish, mutated creatures, hostile environments and desolate ruins from an age long removed. It is a place filled with the twisted and blasted remnants of an age past and new moments for the days to come.

However, the ruined Earth is also a place returned to Eden-like beauty — with verdant groves of once again ancient trees, new mountain ranges thrust skyward by violent tectonic thrashings, and the very air filled with tangible, mystical energies. The planet has given rise to all new forms of life, in trappings both mundane and magnificent. Strange creatures that seem at once familiar and foreign, whose dispositions range from merely timid to supremely terrible, roam the newly-vast wilderness.

The cradles of civilization have been made anew since the Event. Those who were once known as "Superpowers" are now no more. New peoples, groups, states, nations and civilizations have arisen from the ashes of the Event. Some are built upon the bones of their ancestors, while some forge new paths or are entirely alien to the planet. As with every new age of the world, a whole new set of heroes and villains has arisen to pursue their desires — be they fair or foul. Regardless, all strive to defend their borders from the unpredictable new world around them while still yearning to achieve their dreams.

…Even if those dreams are to merely survive.
