The Event changed the face of Australia – the Flux ripped through the heart of the continent. It brought chaos, but it also brought rain to the heart of the Outback, and the rain brought life. Green and wild, life burst forth and something else awoke with it – something that had been buried deep within the heart of the land.
Animals all across Australia began waking to sentience, and they called themselves L'na, the first L'na to be born to the New Earth. The L'na soon encountered Churl and the two peoples quickly formed an alliance for they shared a common outlook, but they also shared a mutual enemy.
As the land birthed the L'na, the great Flux front birthed horrors that stalked the land. The monstrosities were to numerous for the limited numbers of Churl and L'na, and so they sought out the High-bred of the remnants of the Australian Defense Force. Thankfully, they found an ally in the ADF and the three worked together, and through a combination of sheer might, magic, and firepower they were able to cull the bands of horrors.
The Klik didn't arrive on Australia until decades later. A tremendous Flux storm that spawned a mass of new horrors, and in conjunction a massive Klik node suddenly appeared around two hundred kilometers north of Brisbane. Not only had the node been ripped out of the Great Machine at a precarious angle, but when arriving on earth it had fused with the land resulting in wide-scale destruction. Even as the Apoc and L'na were trying to respond to the new wave of horrors they rushed to the aid of the Klik.
It took years to recover, but the races did, and on the anniversary of the Flux storm they signed the “Canberra Protocol" and formally created the Dreaming. The Protocol contains two promises: First, the citizens of the Dreaming, no matter their race, will protect and support each other. Secondly, the citizens of the Dreaming acknowledges that there is a greater goal for their people: healing and rebuilding the Three Worlds by understanding and eradicating the Flux.

The history of the Dreaming has created a unique people – shared adversity has knit the races together and 
forged the only nation where all of the major races live together and cooperate. And cooperate they have: they have kept the Flux front tamed and the horrors at bay for years. Through a combination of High-bred technology, L'na and Churl magic, and Klik mechano-wizardry they have lunched a fleet of great airships. They broke the back of the vile pirates of the Solomon League. And they've developed the first magical devices to strike back against the Flux itself.
But now the citizens of the Dreaming face their greatest challenge: the L'na of Aotearoa. The so called Wardens of the island have decreed that the L'na of the Dreaming are a blasphemy, the Klik a blight upon earth, while the Apoc are a pest, and all should be eradicated. So, once more the races of the Dreaming prepare for war, but they understand adversity well and they will face it as they always have – united.
