The nature of the Flux is constant change. Inconsistency is consistent within the Flux. New horrors are being unleashed in the various realms of existence all the time, forcing those within them to fight a constant war against an unintelligible enemy. The most recent horrors to appear out of the Flux are the Slime Lords.
Named for the disgusting slime that constantly excretes from their bodies, Slime Lords are massive hydra-like beings with an unfathomable sentience, an insatiable hunger, and burning desire to destroy everything. These foul beasts rule over the lesser Flux creatures as demi-gods, collecting followers and demanding sacrifices.
Slime Lords are immense in size, the oldest being several hundred feet in length and weighing many tons. The largest lords can consume entire High-bred bases in a single bite. However, if caught young, a Slime Lord might not be any bigger than 10 feet in length. Slime Lords are hydras, and as such possess massive regenerative qualities. This, combined with their size, makes them extremely difficult to destroy. Slime Lords, especially larger ones, usually have other lesser Flux creatures in service to them as well, to serve as guardians.
Slime Lords are sentient, and like most other Flux creatures, can communicate telepathically. However, merely "conversing" with a Slime Lord is usually enough to drive one mad. Their slime is often poisonous and full of several toxins. This slime is also believed to allow the Slime Lord to exert telepathic control over an individual, if exposed to enough of it. However, the exact amount required is unclear, and it is theorized that the reaction varies according to the victims mental capacities. They have several bulbous eyes, which are thought to also house a brain in them. These creatures also have massive maws, which are capable of swallowing almost anything. Legend tells of one of the first Slime Lords, Var-Haranagth, whose maw is a gaping three miles in length.
Slime Lords are usually summoned or "called" to an area by a Glutton or a Flux Warper, who "prepares" that area for their arrival. The Gluttons and/or Warpers usually use their Flux powers to weaken the fabric of reality in the area to allow a Slime Lord to enter into that realm. This is the best time to destroy a Slime Lord, since they tend to be small and weak at this point. Once "planted" in an area, a Slime Lord will begin to grow and consume everything physical and spiritual around it. From people to ghosts, from animals to magic energy, Slime Lords consume all around them.
Tactics: Slime Lords are weak against fire, ice and acid. If these elements are conjured through magic, they are usually even more effective. However, napalms and grenades can work as well. Slime Lords use their immense size as a physical defense, but will constantly probe an area mentally, searching for threats as Lords are extremely paranoid. If they find an intruder, they will attack them mentally and try to take control of the individual. Not surprisingly, Klik seem immune to the mental powers of Slime Lords.
If encountering a Slime Lord, especially a small one, beware of their guardians. These can range from Hydra Strands to Flux Warpers and everything in between. If you survive to encounter the Slime Lord, kill it as quickly as possible, as the very sight of one can be enough to drive one mad. If you encounter a larger and older Slime Lord, RUN!!!!
