The Neonstalker is one of the greatest tragedies of the Event. Once an extremely powerful L'na Dawn whose powers were based in thunder and lightning, the Neonstalker was caught in a violent storm caused by the Event. She was taken from Ai, and transported to Apoc-Earth. When she passed through the Flux, she became fused the essence of an unusual, otherworldly spectral beast; thus the Neonstalker was born.
The Neonstalker is around ten feet tall, and has little to no body mass. She is primarily formed of a plasma like substance, that is highly conductive. This plasma-like substance emits a field of influence around the Neonstalker, automatically shorting out any electronics that are within fifty feet of the Neonstalker.
The Neonstalker has no knowledge of her previous existence, and she does not appear to be sentient in any form. The Neonstalker is little more than an animal with the power of a god. When she passed through the Flux, her powers over electricity were amplified considerably. Because of the beast she was fused with during the flux, the Neonstalker developed a spectral form ability allowing her to pass through nearly any wall or barrier and of vanishing on a whim.
The first sighting of the Neonstalker was at an Apoc High-bred base in Australia. A sudden, massive electric storm suddenly formed over the base, followed by a large explosion that destroyed almost every electronic device within a ten mile radius. The soldiers at the base were surprised at not only the electronics failure but that a creature of some form had overrun base defenses. The Neonstalker wreaked havoc on the base and its defenders for hours, electrocuting several in process and leaving most of the ground scorched. And just as suddenly as she appeared, she disappeared in a massive lightning strike.
The Neonstalker's attacks are not limited to New Earth. Thanks to the Event, the Neonstalker has been able to expand its attack into Ai and the Great Machine as well. On Ai, the Neonstalker has fed off of the plentiful lightning storms caused by the Event, causing great damage to Ai. The Great Machine has seen more damage resulting from the Neonstalker. The Neonstalker has managed to find the various sources of massive electricity stored in the Great Machine itself, and feeding off of the various Klik that it encounters.
The Neonstalker's appearances are random, and space, distance, and even time do not seem to affect it. On Apoc Earth, many High-bred bases have suffered incredible losses to the Neonstalkers. Jeitai, and its highly advanced technology, has been subject to the multiple Neonstalker attacks.
Various High-bred bases and the Great Machine itself have begun to take preventive measures against the Neonstalker. High-bred bases have begun to invest heavily into a stronger form of rubber, in order to prevent conduction of electric current, and massive EMF generators to provide a counter charge against the Neonstalkers in hopes of shorting it out. The Great Machine, thanks to a few ingenious Klik, has begun to develop a similar material to rubber, and begun to protect key locations and machines from the Neonstalkers attack by developing similar weapons.
Ai perhaps has taken the most unique approach to defending itself from the Neonstalker. Several more L'na Dawns who powers are based in lightning and electricity have been born, and these L'na in turn hunt down the Neonstalker to feed on its electrical outbursts, draining it off energy and forcing it to withdraw from Ai. Ai has also spawned a "Stormhead Goliath", a giant goliath whose powers lie in the ability the create and, more importantly, destroy or dissolve thunder storms. These Goliaths are Ai's first and last defense against the Neonstalker, and will seek out and destroy the storms that the Neonstalker needs to feed on.
Since then, the Neonstalker has been ravaging various locations across the planet. Anywhere where there is a high concentration of electric power, the Neonstalker is sure to appear, leaving on death in her wake. It is believed that she targets these bases for their energy, absorbing as much electricity as possible.
It was long believed that the Neonstalker was a solitary creature, the only one of its kind. However, a recent attack on a High-bred stronghold in the ruins of Tokyo revealed several smaller Neonstalkers, leaving many to speculate the Neonstalker possibly has a mate.
Tactics:The Neonstalker is incredibly powerful. The Neonstalker has no rhyme or reason to its attack, and follows no true patterns of attack. When encountering the Neonstalker, the individual with the most electronics will usually be singled out by the Neonstalker. When attacking, the Neonstalker will either focus its electric bursts into single blasts, capable of hitting only one opponent but completely devastating it.
The Neonstalker can also send out shockwaves, capable of doing only minor damage, but destroying electronics and paralyzing foes. The Neonstalker, finally, is also capable of conjuring electric storms. These storms are not actively conjured, but rather are the result of the prolonged presence of the Neonstalker in a particular environment. When the Neonstalker has consumed its feel of electrical energy, it will disappear in a bright flash, leaving only a powerful electro-magnetic field in its wake that can linger for days.
