"We were old when Man was young."
Character Description/Notes: Sunny is a female aspect L'na Dawn that appears to be leonine in her primary appearance, yet she possesses a very male-like lion's mane. Her form combines the yellows of the desert sand and winds alongside the browns of the ancient mountains and stones. Her mane is interspersed with colorful pinnate quill-like feathers and her belly and tail are armored with fine scales, reminiscent of the scintillating skin of a serpent.
Long ago the L'na could cross the gulfs of reality; some readily do so into the present era. Sunny and many of her companions were such spherical navigators, passing over the seas of time and space. Then they arrived in the desert kingdoms of fabled Egypt nearly six thousand years before the present era.
To ancient humans, the L'na were godly in aspect and power. The L'na were flattered by the adoration and worship. The L'na, especially Sunny, with her powers over light, sun, and heat, were given godly names, Sunathet was how she came to be called. Others were named Osiru, Seth, and Isis. Their forms gave rise to architecture and art, which in turn passed to legend and myth. The sphinx, harpy, and many others were birthed from the presence of these "fore-runner" L'na.
Unfortunately power breeds jealousy both among the L'na and humans. A war for domination erupted among the faction; Seth wanting power for power's sake, Osiru being a benevolent care taker of the fledgling civilization. The two, with their allies, fell to battle. Long and bloody, the war gave rise to creation and rebirth myths as well as apocalyptic end stories to all things.
The aftermath was devastating and Sunny was deeply wounded, not in body but in spirit. She was one of the few L'na to survive the war and the rest wanted to return to Ai. To see her own people succumb to the greed of power and control sickened her heart. She felt that they did not deserve the peace of Ai, and she had fallen in love with the heat and warmth of the North African desert.
Sunny longed to Ascend with her adopted home, to become one with the sands, the waters of the Nile, the sun itself. But she did not, but she chose to remain and in such a way to wait until man would become enlightened enough to not worship the L'na as gods, but to work as harmonious partners. The Great Sphinx was constructed and Sunny placed herself within it, sending herself into a deep "death sleep" that would last far longer than she had planned.
The Great Sphinx was breached by time and the destruction caused by the Event. Sunny emerged to find a more barbaric age than the one she had left. She was racked by new guilt. Sunny wondered what could she have prevented had she and the others remained among men trying to guide and teach them.
Sunny found that much of her power had left her with her long hibernation; she could no longer pass between worlds as she had once before. She was still powerful, but not as she had been when she had helped shape a world. The L'na then realized that she had enough strength to do what must be done: guide men back to the path of civilization. She wanders the desolate world, looking for any who will listen to her story, to her lessons.
Tactics: Sunny is by no means a pacifist, she is a predator by nature; battle and offense are natural to her. She is a quick and cunning fighter. Sunny has much of her old control over light and heat, creating shimmering force fields and letting loose with bolts of golden light or fire. She is has formidable physical attributes as well that make her viciously deadly when she closes on a foe.
Sunny will defend any bastion of civilization with her dying breath to preserve it, to allow it to get a foot hold. She avoids anyone she considers an entropic influence, but will readily ally with those that seek to preserve humanity and civilization. As such she is drawn to ally herself with High-bred, but find some to hold an almost xenophobic dread of L'na. She finds Churl to be wild and unpredictable, but have their civilization developing; she sees much of the ancient world in the barbarians. The Klik have an odd outlook that she finds intriguing but is not something that organic beings should ever consider trying to embrace.
