What Do You Want?

Well, Ashy knows a lot of what I want, but my current number one is this:

More Race Portraits! In order, I'd like to see another L'na Race deck (17--no scratch that--35 NEW L'na Race cards!), then another Klik Race deck (17 is fine here), then another Apoc Race deck (17 is fine here as well).

The thing is, Apoc Churls and High-bred are fairly easy to visualize. Likewise, the Klik have a fairly standardized appearance. However, the L'na can look like ANY combination of daytime creatures or nighttime creatures!

I'm with TL on the L'na race cards.

I'm fine with the Race Packs, although I think the Apoc one is wanting.

I would suggest World-packs. For example, an Apoc Earth deck would include the Apoc Race Deck, Lock'n'Load, Melee Weapons, Races of New Earth, the Environment Decks, etc. An Ai pack would include G. of Oaze and Maoru, the L'na Race, etc. All the cards set in those worlds.

I want meta-cards - cards that change the rules or change other cards or rely on physical attributes (i.e. touching another card) to affect gameplay - given that Flux already warps reality, why not let cards have reality-warping effects the players get to experience, not just their characters? ;)

I like the idea of the ULTRA PACK, but we'd need to constantly keep updating it as we keep adding new stuff. Maybe a 2010 ULTRA PACK? Also, I'm not sure if we make a box big enough! Need to check with the printer... :P

I also like the Developer's Choice pack, but would anyone really want to buy this???

@TL, expanded Race decks with new art are coming; we were building some last Friday night, in fact.... :)

Especially L'na. While I wouldn't mind separate Decks, if you just made one Expanded Race deck, that'd be cool too!

Yeah, that would work. Untold has been out for a year so all the decks that have been released so far can be in ULTRA PACK 1 while the next year can release ULTRA PACK 2. It could be done every year come either April or Christmas, whichever would get you more money.

Other MEGA PACK ideas: Race cards, Minions, Blessings, Gifts, Ecology, etc.

Basically every card of each type in one very big box. It would be great and would save me a lot of time in figuring out which decks to buy.

So, did you know about the Starter Sets I linked to above?

I intend to head to Bud's place sometime this weekend to buy them. I WOULD get them from the store, but I'm trying to set up a campaign with my friends and I'd like the cards quickly.

Not sure if Bud's has them, but cool!

Right now the cards present the rules in a succinct format, and swapping is a unique mechanic that relies on the fact that these are cards we're working with. But what if the cards themselves could be affected by other powers or rules? I'm not looking to re-invent the Chaos Orb, but for example a Hyperboost power that doubles the boost applied to any power card touching the power - you could try squeezing several cards so at least a corner touches. There was one I wrote up called Baneshifter that treats the bane card as something that can be moved to in front of a new player instead of just going away when overcome.

I'm too sane right now to properly describe this idea, I think - moving outside the "cards=rules" box is gonna take a special insight that I've only glimpsed up to now.

Hurm....interesting... I've had some thoughts along these lines in the past. We need to keep thinking on this and try and draft up some powers (a set would be nice) and I'll see what I can do on this end. :D

Had an idea about cards to modify other cards -- take a look at this Flikr-image I cobbled together:

You have a mod-card with two 'sides', each side a different modification of some type. (could be four 'sides' if double-sided card, as well). You have one 'right-side' modifier (Mod Card One), and one 'left-side' modifier (Mod Card Two).

This type of card has two basic features:

• Only one mod can be used from any modifier card at any one time.
• Each 'base' card can only be modded twice, once by a 'left-hand' card, once by a 'right-hand' card.

I came up with mod cards a long ways back. You can see the idea in some of my card suggestions, like the ones that increase max MAG from Boost.

I would like to see race cards with blank covers that players can draw pictures of their characters.

It would be nice to have stand ups with the PDF>

Let me toss my suppport behind "blank race cards" but somehow that suggestion originally morphed into a deckful of QRCs.

I also suggested blank skill card (will track down original post at some point - the joy of posting early and often). It seems wasteful to try an come up with every skill out there. But sometimes I want my character to have the ability to play whist or chess or perform an instrument or paint or sculpt or write haikus. Building cards for these and more seems a huge undertaking of limited return if players don't want every skill (or at least a plurality) from the deck.

A blank skill could be a physical skill, mental skill or social skill. Widely applicable skills (GM's call as always) might start with a MAG of 4 and a boost of 1 per 1 from the appropriate aspect. More narrow skills could be mag 6 and 2 for 1 on the boost. Greco-roman wrestling would have a boost based on Body, while Astronomy would be Mind. Poker might be Mind or Soul - check with your GM (or have a really good argument prepared).

So on the front of the card, just a UP cost and level - you can write in the skill as you come up with the character. (These would be skills used primarily in contests against other characters (PC or NPC) - so it makes the roll more than just d20 plus some boost.) There wouldn't be other game effects of these skills and could not overlap or replace existing skills. (No "paramilitary training" that gives attack bonuses because "Commando Training" is already out there and does the same thing.) Again, great idea for a PDF card - print out more as needed.

Savage Races: Race Cards and Powers for our more "feral" creatures (such as the Varm, H'runt, Vrr, Deepshiners, etc)

I'd like to see a PDF of the Skills Deck.

However, I would want the layout to be different than the other PDF's.

I would like to see two of each of the base level of a skill and two of each of the higher level of the skill on a single page. For example: Awareness, Awareness, Awareness 3, Awareness 3.

This would make it easier to print out extra copies of specific skills, without having to print ones that you didn't need.

Just a suggestion. :)

No rush on this, but I was thinking that in your Untold Art folder you might start slowly adding galleries of the card art (just the artwork) under sub-folders by Artist. It would be neat. :)

So, why is this here? Because in addition to wanting the specific names of the two new Apoc High-bred cards, I'd like to see these races released as a deck to make them easier to buy! :)

Yea, we figured that 17 new Race Cards would be a very interesting thing for most folks - basically, all the Flux Horror and Undead Minions to date being released as Races, plus the 2 new High-bred (HERo Sgt. and NAU Grunt)...
