Paul,
I think MHM is getting a regular game going at Bud's Place in Leeds. Also, there was a lot of talk this weekend between Hall, MHM, and M3 about getting something together... ;)
Read this: (http://www.untoldthegame.com/forum/real-world-untold-factions#comment-4723) if you don't know what I'm talking about, then come back here and read this stuff below:
Benraven and I were chatting about it and I think that we should give it a start. I know that right now, we have three basic areas in Alabama with Untold fans: Northern AL (i.e. Huntsville area), Central AL (i.e. B'ham area), and Southern AL (i.e. Mobile area). In the current Untold mythos, the logical choice would be Churl, but the temptation to include some Klik in there (i.e. with all of B'ham's history with ironworks and all of Huntsville's high-tech space age stuff) is almost too great to ignore.
So what do my fellow Untold Alabamians say? Whaddya think?
Since I technically live in a third of the year, I'll give my half-UP thought on Ashy's concept: I love the Klik integration into the AL faction with the B'ham ironworks and Huntsville tech centers--in truth, I think that would be a great goldmine to exploit both in game and in the faction. I've always joked that the military had a fluke stroke of genius planting the center in space technology in the middle of Alabama, known more for its cotton and "undying" Confederate pride (and I've only seen one book, written by an Alabaman, that includes the area as a target of interest for hostile enemies). Exploring this could have many affects both in and out of game for the AL gamers, and bring some cool churl-steampunk blends. And I will leave the up to you guys to decide what to do. ;)
But klik-trained churl mechanics would be a nasty discovery south of NAU lines... :)
I'm thinking Clockwork Churl, baby! :D Lava Maw + Heavy Klik Armor + Leaping + Steam Hammer = Human Mechs! :D
Totally slipped my mind to use BMCC to make a klik-churl!!! That RAWKS! :D
>:]
I like the idea. Churls vs Kliks. i also like that if we showed up to an event sportin' our colors, a little LARPing if you will (but just a little). Do I smell patches? I like patches LOL.
That's the general idea, suren! So what do you think dproject? Klik? Churl? Churl with klik augmentations?
Hmm, Gargantuan Klik with a spear? Even if it never fights, it'd make a great landmark...
LOL! I love it, LK!
Groovy!!!
Yes, a Churl Klik. Chief Rolling Thunder!! I claim it!! LOL
Go for it.
Ok, so, how do we account for the Churl tribes, being so distant from one another, and yet being "on the same page"?
If you think about it, you aren't really all that distant from one another. And to make real world references, there are countless examples of tribal groups making contacts from other cultures that were literally hundreds of miles away.
Flux portals rip the space-time continuum and allow those brave enough to dive through the chance to cross vast distances instantly. These tribes have learned to anticipate the opening of beneficial portals and use them to remain connected.
I suppose I should let all of you, that don't know already, know I am in Birmingham.
Thanks, Seriostar!
EDIT: added to the initial post.
On the way home today, Jennifer kicked this out there.
Birmingham and Central Alabama are renowned for mining, mostly iron and other minerals (coal, I believe?). What if, after the Event, a colony of Klik settled into the ruins of B-ham to mine, and had Churl and Highbred slaves that served as miners?
I have to say, I like it. But maybe because I've been in those mines....and yer not supposed to go down there. ;)
Instead of Vulcan, we could have a Great Machine Statue that is "worshipped" by the Klick.
??? I'm not sure what ya mean, dproject!
I totally know what you mean. And I like it!!!
Hey All,
Just wondering if there are any current Untold gaming groups going on in the B'Ham area. I called up to Buds and there is no one currently organizing games and last time I checked, no one was running any games at the the Table Top Meetup. Any other places that I am missing?
Isn't Brantley supposed to be running a campaign at Bud's on a bi-weekly basis?
Unknown, but an email has been sent! :D
Is anyone going to Play On Con July 29 - August 1, because there was some Untold action last year so I was kinda hoping there would be a game this year.
Welcome to the boards, E! ;) We were there last year but will not be there in any official capacity this year though. MegaMagicMonkey and ManyHattedMan may well be there, though - it's basically in their backyard! :P
Are you from AL? If so where and I'll add you to the list at the top of the thread!

Hey i am in Birmingham. I would be interested in playing and or GM'ing. Anyone attend the monthly Tabletoppers Meet Up in Homewood?
Untold Blessings
