Okay, just going off the concept of Untold being incredibly open and free, here are two concepts of different cards that could be offered to players.
First, if a character is good at a certain skill that's not available yet, you can try using traits and aspects to make up the missing skill. ("Hmm, to win this riddle contest, it's a Mind roll, but you can add Insightful.") I'm suggesting cards that are titled "General Skill" and "Narrow Skill" that have a blank, open, white rectangle under the name. "General" skills would cost more and/or have lower MAG since they are applicable in a wider range of circumstances. "Narrow" would cost less or have a higher MAG because they're more specific in usage. If you want to have a geologist, you could bring the General skill card and write "geology" and BANG your character gets better results when studying rocks. If you want to have a Chess Grand Master, as a Narrow skill card and trounce your opponents. It's a GMs call as to what makes a skill General versus Narrow.
Next, the other card concept is a race card with no illustration. On the side where the illustration would normally appear, just have a large blank area where a player can draw what they think their character looks like. (I ran a campaign once where the rules (the book's, not mine) had as one step in character creation where you'd draw something - usually your character, but maybe a sigil or signature weapon or whatever. Making the players draw their character (no matter how crudely) helped the concepts coalesce and made the characters stronger IMHO.)
I love the idea of drawing my own character! I am in no way an artist, but I think that would be cool. Many of the people I have met are artistically talented, and I think they would love that! I have an idea for a Churl Witch, but I do not like any of the art work for the female churls that is currently available. So instead of using another card that I don't like (or in this instance Toa), I could draw up my own character! And maybe, on the front, it could simply say "Churl" but then have a place to write the character's name. That way, your character really is yours! I love it!
Why not submit your Churl witch on the boards, Dovebear... Ya never know, we just might make some art for her. Also, I think we have some art along those lines coming that you'll like... ;)
I plan on it. I just quite haven't gotten some of the details worked out.
Sounds great! :D

Hurm...those are some very cool ideas, I must say... :)
