Hey guys I got my latest shipment in finally =) Got a problem I noticed on one of my decks while I was bagging them. My Powers: Apoc Amplifications cards didn't print right. They look as if I put 3d glasses on many of the cards might be legible in 3D. I have not had time to study the rest of my order, but it looks like this one deck is for the most part on a single side unreadable.
Yup, this is a top priority for WMS - we're working this issue HARD. Deviant, please give me an estimate of how many cards are un-usable. We'll be sending you a new deck ASAP.
I was tiered last night when I was loading my cards into their protective sleeves, but nothing caught my eye on the first decks I went thru. When I got to the Apoc Amplifications it was almost the entire deck that went from blurry to 3d to completely illegible. I'll give everything else a look over later and give you a full estimate on the damage. I'm hoping it was just the one deck. And your hoping some idiot at your printer didn't run a bunch of bad copies of that one deck. =P I'll gladly ship the one deck back to you all if you put a return label in the shipping box you send out.
Prior to this shipment I had only noticed a minor blur on a few cards and I have one aspect card that is yellow on the top and I think blue on the bottom. This time though the deck is on one side pretty much unusable.
Too bad I'm on the imaging side of my company or maybe I could convince them to print playing cards as a verticle line of business in the publishing division. For now just move your printing process to somewhere where they endorse child labor and have them do a manual QC process. =P
Humorously When I ordered the core rules from Paizo for Pathfinder it took 5 weeks for them to get me my order and I noticed the book was pressed in China. Based on the time it took to get to me I'm thinking it was hand written in a sweatshop.
Thanks for the additional info - we've only seen the yellow/blue aspect card once before, but any info is helpful. I did not know that you worked at a printing company. Feel free to contact me and maybe we can chat about possibilities. Looking forward to getting that list from you.
48 of the front in my Apoc Amplifications are various levels of bad.. Depending on how they box these things I'd be more than willing to bet you the deck printed directly after this one suffered the same alignment problems in printing. I'm actually a developer/manager for the scanning side of our business. I think we have an iGen 4 up north, but from my discussions with the VP on that side of the business they do mostly high volume comercial printing. They aren't geared for quick changover on smaller jobs and wouldnt find it profitable. I should end up on the phone with one of our developers in the next couple of days I'll ask him if he thinks we'd have the capabilities.
Thanks for the info, Deviant. I'm dropping a replacement deck in the mail to you today. Keep me posted on the other developments. ;)

Well, I just wrote a big long post about which cards in my Apoc Amplification deck are messed up, but I apparently lost it.
It's greater than 50%, though it only seems to have affected one side of them.
Erg....ok, thanks for the info Brantly. Please drop me an email with your snail mail address and a link to this thread and I'll get a replacement out to you.

Unfortunately, this has been a long-standing problem with the cards' printing process. Same thing happened to me with my new shipment. I can tell you, however, that resolving this problem was a topic of several conversations during the convention over the weekend. The Wandering Men took pictures of some of my own cards that had the same issue so as to send them to the printers, and I was also present for a serious discussion between them on how to make this thing better.
I'm not sure how much I can state outright regarding what was said, but all I can say is that Ashy and the other Wandering Men are highly aware of this issue, take it VERY seriously, and are examining all possible avenues for resolving it.
