Are the Power Ranges absolutes, or can they be exceeded?

The reason I ask is that having a Rifle-type weapon limited to around 150 feet is unrealistic.

Modern rifles are effective at over 1,000 feet, and some are even effective at a mile!

Perhaps a -1 MAG and -2 to the Attack Roll for each increment past the initial?

The usual shpeel

The rules exist for the sake of balance, but what you say makes sense so... GM's call (surprise, surprise!). I like the idea of adding a penalty for exceeding the range though. It's bending the rules without ignoring them and that's just creative. Although, unless it was exceeding the rifle's absolute maximum range, I wouldn't reduce MAG. I'd just reduce ATK. That means it's harder to hit at longer ranges but it doesn't reduce damage until you go out past that 1 mile 'effective until' limit you mentioned.

Moving to GM's Tactics, etc.

Well, if this could be a House Rule, it belongs in the GM section. I'll post over there. Thanks for the input!

Not my job

Organization of the forums isn't my expertise. So.... I can't really comment on that one either way.
