I posted the original post on FB but I'll post it here as well. Here's the FB post: http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=136773329726215
Untold the Game - Oceanic Adventures is going to be a string of mini quests set in the Splintered Serenity Setting of Oceania, including Apoc Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. No Untold cards? No problem! I'll provide several pre-built characters. All you need is a d20 and a pencil.
This campaign is going to be focused around a small series of quests, allowing players to come and go as they please. Each quest is an adventure and story unto itself, but all lead to a larger plot line. The time is flexible, but I was thinking of meeting every other Saturday until this thing plays out or I run out of ideas. We can even change GMs and the like as other players get more comfortable with the system.
I would really like everyone to try this if it interests you even slightly. Like I said, I'll provide the cards you need to play for each game. The system is easy to learn and play. I'd like to have our first game next Saturday afternoon at TBS, exact start time is flexible. Let me know if you have any questions!
In case you missed it on Facebook, our first mission for Oceanic Adventures is going to be a redux of my con game "War Zone". Each player will have a starting 50 UP. If you don't have any Untold cards, don't worry. I'll have 9 pre-built decks for people to use. Newbies are not only welcome but encouraged.
Here's a general overview for the theme of this adventure:
The Dreaming, in many ways, has achieved what no other civilization or culture has: a confederation of different races all working towards a common good. The state of the Dreaming is as fragile as its namesake, however. Many powerful and influential members within the Dreaming believe that this ideallic nation is beginning to fracture. Unseen influences and self interest are putting cracks in the foundation of the Dreaming. Something has to be done to counteract these nefarious influences. The word has been put out "Answer the Call: Defend the Ideal", the Dreaming needs heroes who believe in higher ideals and not only interested in personal wealth or glory.
Mission 1: The War Zone
Off the Southeastern coast of the Dreaming is a small, lush island. While relatively isolated, it is an ideal place to establish a colony of non-humans who may have trouble adjusting to human society. It was decided that this island, referred to as DAC (Dreaming Adjustment Colony) 003, would be an excellent place to establish a L'na colony to serve as a buffer zone against the aggressive Wardens of Aotearoa. However, a bureaucratic mistake placed a small Klik colony on the far side of the same island. 3 months later, both colonies have expanded and come into conflict with each other. Dreaming Leaders are afraid that if the conflict is not resolved quickly and quietly, the fighting could spread onto the continent, ripping the Dreaming apart at the seams.
A delegation of negotiators, adventurers contracted by the Dreaming, are being sent to DAC 003, to negotiate a peaceful settlement. If this fails, as a last resort, the party is to "remove" all troublesome elements from colony.
Let me know when it's happening, Ben, and I will announce it as a CUBE! :D
First off, let me thank Lumbrklik and his Varm for showing up. Sorry to everyone else who tried to find us but couldn't. Hopefully, you'll make the next adventure, which is going to be April 16, Saturday, from 1 - 4 pm. Once again, time and date are flexible. Here's what the adventure is going to be:
Mission 2: Welcome to the Jungle
It was obvious that the events on DAC 003 were influenced by outside powers. A captured L'na admitted that he served the Wardens of Aotearoa as an emissary to other L'na colonies, in hopes of creating a large alliance of L'na and attack the Dreaming. Also, there were rumors from the other L'na that the giant Savager in the stasis egg was a gift from "a power in the North". More information is needed.
Dreaming command has formed a party of adventurers to inflitrate, locate, and capture one of the leaders of the Wardens and bring her back to the Dreaming for interrogation. The task isn't going to be easy, as this extraction team will be completely cut off and in enemy territory. The utmost stealth is required.
Each player will begin with 55 UP (unless otherwise stated).
It would be really awesome to get write-ups of each adventure, Ben.... You know, so that those that can't make it can at least live vicariously through you guys! :D
Like fictions or detailed accounts of the game?
If I had my choice, fiction. What would be really cool is a fictionalized version of the game, with a "GM Wrap-up" at the end where you discuss meta things, like combat, snafus, funny parts, etc... :)
Been a while since I wrote a fiction. I might could oblige you. We're only doing this game, right now atleast, once a month though. Is that alright?
Whatever you want to do - it could be a combo of meta-game and in-game writing - whatever. :)
No problem. Send you something soon.
Cool!
The next date is set for April 16, Saturday from 1-4 pm. Will go longer if we need and we should get a table this time.
Also, at the beginning of each game, I'm going to start offering a warchest option. Essentially, if I have a weapon, ability or spell you need, I'll lend you the card for that session. At the end of the session, you return the card to the warchest. I'll have a complete inventory of what you can use at each game.
Hope to see some warm bodies there.
Do you want me to announce this as a CUBE, Ben?
Make it cubed!
Will do!
Alright, folks, we're going to have to postpone the next Oceanic Adventures game from this saturday (April 16) to next Saturday (April 23). Same bat time, same bat channel.
If this doesn't work out for anyone, please let me know!

Yea! Sounds awesome! :D
