I am terrible at cumming up with names for Corporation, what do you suggest for a High-Bread research Corp. Name, for an adventure I am working on.
Charles
I tried making up names, but everything I thought up at first is apparently already a real company:
Vertitech
Coregear
Recontech
Maybe something more elaborate that emphasizes the attempt to salvage lost technology: Reclamative Research or Militech Reengineering.
Mythological references are always nice - Orion Ordnance, Artemis Armarments, Vulcan Forge Technology, or even Minerva Advance Researches Corporation. (That last one has a easy-to-say acronym: MARC.)
Hope these help.
However, if you're not running cannon, then I guess it would depend on what they're researching...
I've repeatedly thought that it would be entirely possible to run a "plausible future" campaign using the basic Untold cards where all the universes have fully merged and quasi-stabilized, allowing things to rebuild a bit from the Event and more classical forms of civilization to re-emerge. It would basically wind up being very "Shadowrun" in flavor, but that's hardly a bad thing really if your players are into that sort of setting.
My suggestion for the organization name is "DARPA," at least if you're building from the core setting. There's nothing that says the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency couldn't have survived in some form or fashion through the Event, and if they did they'd probably redouble their efforts on their core mission of researching how best to deal with military and strategic problems. They're also mysterious and are known for having a hand in lots and lots of things, so if you're going for the whole "evil corporation doing evil things" angle then they're always a good option to slot in.
Excellent suggestions, all!! :D
since there is so much mutability...what if (even in a cannon game) the high-bred (admittedly i don't know enough about them yet) have discovered a way to establish such a thing, while at the same time countering the problem of the undead being attracted to the area. Maybe its something they accidentally discovered or is a byproduct of how they built their installation that they can't reproduce. Such a stable stronghold provides a multitude of possibilities and gives them a serious technological edge over the other races (a possible campaign idea)and also contributes to helping them become a more organized force??
You could do that, but there would need to be ramifications. If the High-bred can access technology, then the scales of power in North America will (likely) tip in their favor very quickly. While on one hand this might seem like a really good thing, it would also draw them some undue attention. You, as the GM, would need to make sure that you balance this new-found power with new challenges...
Perhaps the Churl see this new, more powerful NAU as a major threat and decide to stop their internal bickering and ally together - one mighty Churl Nation (sorta like the Churl Confederation in Europe) opposed to the new, technology-powered NAU. Perhaps this event (the re-emergence of tech) is what the Externals have been waiting on - and they emerge from their mighty Flux-wall-storm and descend upon the NAU in a great black wall of shadow, tentacle and gnashing teeth. Perhaps some other new, as-yet-unexpected and unknown threat emerges, etc.. etc...
So, you can do whatever you want - the trick is keeping it fun, balanced and challenging... :D
How about the Technological Understanding and Restoration Front, or TURF for short?
BLARG! I REALLY want to edit the OP....
OP???
OP = Original Post. He wants to edit it because he wants to correct all the errors in it (M^3 is one of my real-world friends, and we share a similar "MUST. FIX. ERRORS." drive when it comes to typographical mistakes).
Ah! I see. :P
M3, let me know if you're interested in helping us do some editing! :D
Yeah I'm interested! If I run across any errors I'd love to fix them!
Drop me a PM through the site and we'll go from there.

If they research ways to make Bread it could be High-Bread, Inc. :P
It's "High-bred", not "High-bread", Charles.
If you're running a canon game, then there would not be any research organizations, as that likely requires technology and electricity, both of which are really, really bad ideas when it comes to the Undead Infection. It attracts them like moths to a flame.
However, if you're not running cannon, then I guess it would depend on what they're researching...
