I realize there is a formal card submission thread, but I thought this better belonged here, as my idea is in its infancy.

While flipping through my small collection of cards, I realized there was no card to denote a PC/NPC/Minion being "pinned down," nor a card to put them in some sort of condition.

Suppressing fire is an integral part of modern warfare, and something I would surely think any Apoc High-Bred worth his serial number should be trained in?

My basic idea is to create two cards. One would be a "Pinned Down" card (obviously a Bane of some sort) that GM's could play on players when the sheer volume of enemy fire would make forward progress simply impossible.

Another would be a "Suppressive Fire" card (most likely a Hot Swap) that could be used in order to induce such a state. A huge volume of fire is poured over an area in an attempt to make the enemy keep their heads down rather than attack.

I have no clue of the specific UP cost or even the specific text, just a general idea.

Thoughts?

Just kill it and it'll never pass another Overcome roll.

If you kill it, you'll reduce the MAG of its attack to 0.

Don't worry about cost

No need to worry about Cost, it's pretty tough to puzzle out anyway. Just do the best you can and submit it and we'll go from there! :D

Cool idea, BTW...

Awesome.

Not only are those good ideas, they gave *me* an idea for a derivative Power Card as well. I posted it here, and if it winds up being a good enough idea to make it into a deck I'll *happily* give you co-credit for the concept if you'd like.

Sorry....

Sorry, no can do on the co-credit. Not enough room on the card, sadly. :( Sorry - but physics is against us. :P

Well then heck - I'll happily

Well then heck - I'll happily give SOLE credit, then. I already have one card, and he inspired that concept. No need to be greedy.

Nah, no need to give me

Nah, no need to give me credit, it was your idea. Could your card also be used to simulate hiding behind something (such as rocks, a low wall, or the table you just overturned in the cafeteria-that-just-became-the-epicenter-of-a-firefight)?

It could *conceivably* be

It could *conceivably* be used to duck behind obstacles, but that would be a very loose interpretation because at that point it should also logically provide some benefits (instead of penalties) to avoiding even close attacks due to the additional cover. I envisioned it more as a matter of diving away from a projectile or an attacker using them.
