The evolution of the Apoc Super-Python began long before the Event. Tracing its origins back to the late 20th century early 21st century in south and central Florida, the Apoc Super-Python is a hybrid of various types of pythons that had found fertile breeding grounds in the Everglades. As time passed, these hybrid pythons expanded quickly into the southern United States and eventually into the rest of the world. The various species of pythons began to interbreed and create powerful hybrids that were strong enough to survive the Event.
Snakes are notorious survivors, with a presence on almost every continent. This is true for the Apoc Super-Python as well. Apoc Super-Pythons have no unifying size or color, with the ability to adapt to their current environment given time. The term "super" comes from the one unifying ability to not only survive in nearly eco-system, but also their unifying ability to grow to incredible lengths. The largest Apoc Super-Python, recorded by the NAU, was encountered in region that was known as Central America. This particular python was a phenomenal 300 ft in length, weighed roughly 20 tons and was estimated to be approximately 250 years old.
There are roughly four subspecies of the Apoc Super-Python: The American Quetza Anaconda, which is also known as the Obisidian Anaconda; the Nu-wan River Python of Northern and Central Asia; the Bobbi Rainbow Basilisk of Southeast Asia and Australia; and the Leviathan Viper of Europe and Africa.
The Obisidian Anaconda is perhaps the most aggressive and intelligent of the four subspecies. Named for its dark skin which serves as excellent camoflauge in dark jungles and swamps. The local Churl tribes often venerate this snakes as the pinnacle of power and strength, admiring their amazing constricting coils and massive maws. Younger Obisidian Anaconda's are often captured and placed in temples to serve as totem gods. The churl tribes will then offer sacrifices to the snake in return for its blessings and protection.
Nu-wan River Python favor deep, murky rivers where their yellow/brown scales will allow them to blend in perfectly with their surroundings. They are known to capture prey that strays to close to the river bed, pulling them under water as they constrict them, crushing their preys lunges as it drowns.
The Bobbi Rainbow Basilisk is named for its ever changing hide. The hide will often change shift through several shades of bright, attractive colors. This color shifting has the ability to hypnotize their victims and keep them in a near comatose state as they constrict their prey. Highbred bases in Australia go through great lengths to destroy these pythons to keep them from inflitrating and upsetting their delicate local eco-systems.
The Leviathan Viper of Europe and Africa is an extremely dangerous subspecies. The only species of Super-Python to employ venom, the Leviathan Viper is massive and is known to actively hunt humans and other large prey. Their venom is paralayzing and quick, locking their victims in place, while simultaneously relaxing their muscles (which makes for easier digestion). The Leviathan Viper is also the only known species to pursue multiple prey subjects in one hunt, feeding on as many as three or four humans per hunt. The NE have begun researching ways to eradicate these snakes, including a way to train Savagers to hunt them down and consume their large clutches.
Good stuff, might get some purists up in arms, with the whole venom and pythons thing going on. I'd suggest approaching a right up as an article on Apoc snakes and then break out the constrictors and vipers into groups. Might be cool to have a viper who's venom merely paralyzes the victim who then gets dropped into a pit of babies or saved for later, pulled back into a den.
Ewwww...that'd be nasty.... :P
I LOVE IT!
What about something like a Spitting Cobra that is 100 ft long and can fire venom that will melt a man at 300 ft away. Now that's a terrifying beast!
That IS scary, Siwel! Welcome back to the boards, BTW - great to see ya here again!! :D

Very cool indeed, Ben! Awesome stuff!
