Untold Cards
What is a Race Card?
Race Cards are red in coloration and they are the single card you must have to play a character in Untold. In creating a character, they’re the first card you must select and when taking damage, as soon as you flip your Race Card, your character is dead. Race Cards define what kind of thing: person, critter or what’s’it, your character physically is and gives you the basic information you need to play the race.
On every Race Card, you’ll find the following information:
| # | Label | What’s’it Mean? | ![]() |
| 1 | Name | Er...the name of the Race | |
| 2 | Swap Icon | The swap type needed to play this card. | |
| 3 | Cost (UP) Icon |
East Asia

Except for the disappearance of much of the region's population, Eastern Asia did not suffer too terribly from the Event. It is this relative calm that has allowed the rise of arguably the most advanced nations of New Earth: ASEAS, PPA China, and Jieitai Japan. Flux does plague Western China, and strange monstrous creatures may roam much of the north, but the powers that be consider those problems "under control" and the tension in the region is primarily political. With the rise of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the establishment of ASEAS, Hong Kong and Nanning both declared independence… yet China wants them back for the advanced technology that they possess.

Oceania

Since the Event, the geography of Earth has changed the most within the Oceanic Region. The drastic rise in sea level has impacted Australia and many of the other island chains of the region, while New Zealand is now just a piece of the much larger Aotearoa — a massive island that rose like a monster from the sea in a cataclysm of earth and lava. Even through the upheaval, however, civilization managed to survive… even thrive. Australia is home to the people of The Dreaming, a shining example of civilization and a ray of hope for all of New Earth. The stability of their lives is fragile, however, thanks to the feral sect of L'na Wardens that dominate Aotearoa. All the while, refugees from the islands continuously arrive upon The Dreaming's shores with dark stories about alien and deadly things hunting in the deep waters.

North America

The Apoc inhabitants of North America are under constant threat and are ceaselessly struggling for mere survival. This fight is exemplified and personified in no other group more than in the NAU, or North American Union. Beset from the east by the insidiously-growing plague known only as the Undead Infection and with their backs to an impenetrable Flux Front wall in the west, the continued existence of the NAU hangs by a mere thread. To make matters even worse for this stalwart group of militaristic High-bred, the numerous and varied throwback Churl tribes have entrenched themselves to the south and are attacking their former-brothers-turned-enemies in what promises to be a never-ending war.
What is Splintered Serenity?
Untold was crafted to be both infinitely expandable and simultaneously accepting of any other pre-existing world(s) or setting(s) out there. This way, GMs are never forced to craft their games solely around or within a single Campaign Setting. We feel that this supports two of our core Untold tenets — flexibility and fun — and puts the power back into the hands of Players and GMs. As such, you'll find our default Untold setting, Splintered Serenity, is quite different from most! What's more, we hope you can help us add to our setting by joining our online community at http://www.untoldthegame.com and posting your in-game locations, race and creature concepts, power ideas and more! Who knows, something that YOU create just might wind up on a real Untold card one day! (For more information on this, please see the section on Untold Designers).
